We talk a lot about positivity and happiness here on Sixty and Me. But, the truth is that, no matter how hard we try, we all feel a little sad (or dare I say grumpy?) from time to time! If there is one thing that our modern, always-on society does well it is to promote comparisons. We are told that we are not as smart at this person… or as pretty as that one.

Even our Facebook feeds are filled with only the best moments of our friends’ lives, making our lives feel boring by comparison. Is it any surprise that we spend so much time trying to be someone else?

I don’t know about you, but, the older I get, the more I appreciate the home that I have built for myself.

My apartment is nothing special. Actually, it’s quite small, all things considered. At the same time, I have filled it with the things that I love – pictures, flowers, sparkly lamps and more!
